64-Year-Old Weed Woman Dies, Mohammad Khesrawi Arrested on Interstate 5 DUI Crash

 
Tehama County, CA (December 3, 2020) – On Tuesday, 52-year-old Mohammad Khesrawi of Lathrop was arrested in a DUI crash that killed a Weed woman on Interstate 5.
 
The tragic crash was reported at about 11:45 p.m. south of Tehama Avenue between Red Bluff and Corning.
 
Khesrawi was driving north in a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder when he rear-ended a 2009 Subaru Forester driven by 40-year-old Ea Douangaphay of Weed.
 
The crash caused Douangaphay to lose control. As a result, Subaru overturned.
 
Both Khesrawi and Douangaphay suffered minor injuries.
 
Police arrested Khesrawi on suspicion of DUI.
 
Meanwhile, a 64-year-old Weed woman seated in the back seat of Subaru was thrown from the vehicle. Authorities pronounced her dead at the scene.
 
Investigators do not know if she was wearing a seat belt during the accident. Police withheld the deceased’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
 
Furthermore, 53-year-old Ting Leutmixay of Weed seated in the front seat of the Subaru suffered major injuries. Rescuers rushed her to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff.
