Joseph Aponte Killed in Violent Crash on Highway 90A [Sugar Land, TX]

Sugar Land, TX (February 8, 2024) On Wednesday, 57-year-old Joseph Aponte died in a tragic traffic crash on Highway 90A.

According to Sugar Land Police, the fatal traffic collision happened on Highway 90A between Industrial Boulevard and Eldrige Road.

Reports say that authorities were chasing burglary suspects on 2 separate vehicles, one vehicle had 3 occupants while the other had a lone driver.

Officials say that the vehicle with 3 suspects crashed into Aponte’s truck while he was crossing the intersection.

Authorities pronounced Aponte dead at the scene, his family has been notified. Officials say that Aponte was a parts clerk for Fleet with the Sugar Land Public Works Department.

Meanwhile, the 3 suspects inside the vehicle that struck Aponte’s truck were taken to the hospital in unknown condition, while the 4th suspect was apprehended in Houston by Sugar Land and Missouri City Police Departments.
