88-Year-Old Man Dies After Crash on 3rd Street in Calexico

Calexico, CA (September 6, 2024) –  An 88-year-old died in a crash on 3rd Street and Heber Avenue.

According to police, an 88-year-old man was crossing the intersection when a vehicle struck him, throwing him about ten feet from the impact. 

He was taken to a local hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. 

The driver reported to police that the sun’s glare impaired his vision. 

The incident remains under investigation, and no citations have been issued at this time.
