14-Year-Old Jonathan Ayala Killed in Marsalis Avenue Accident [Dallas, TX]

Dallas, TX (September 7, 2024) – Jonathan Ayala, a 14-year-old middle school student at Boude Storey Middle School, was killed in a Marsalis Avenue accident Friday morning.

It was ab out 7:55 a.m. when the collision happened on E Ledbetter Drive.

The Dallas Police Department determined that a driver and the passenger, 47-year-old James Grant, got into an argument as they travel south on Marsalis Avenue.

Grant began struggled the driver and assaulted them.

Grant reached across the driver and the vehicle went off the road striking Ayala who was walking in the grass.

Immediately, the rescuers rushed Ayala to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. 

Officers said Grant stole something from the driver and fled on foot while the driver remained and called 911. 

Luckily, the authorities were able to locate Grant and arrest him for felony murder. Troopers said Grant he was in the act of committing a felony offense that resulted to the death of Ayala.

The authorities are still investigating.
