Jesse Duer Killed in West Howard Lane Tragic Crash [Austin, TX]

Austin, TX (February 9, 2024) On Thursday morning, 39-year-old Jesse Duer was hit by a pickup in a tragic crash on West Howard Lane.

According to the Austin Police Department (APD), the auto-pedestrian collision happened on February 1, around 7 a.m. in the 700 block of West Howard Lane.

Reports say that a pickup truck hit Duer, Austin-Travis County medics arrived on the scene and performed life-saving procedures on Duer and were able to revive the injured pedestrian.

Medics rushed Duer to the hospital, however, Duer ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital on February 5.

Authorities say that the pickup driver stayed at the scene and did not show signs of impairment. Officials say that the driver cooperated with officials.

Police are investigating the auto-pedestrian collision and have not released further information at this time.
