Erica Deleon Detained in Deadly Pedestrian Crash at Crenshaw Boulevard and Maricopa Street
TORRANCE, CA (March 18, 2019) – A deadly pedestrian accident Saturday at Crenshaw Boulevard and Maricopa Street left a woman under arrest for DUI.
According to police officers, the crash ensued at 6 a.m. The 2018 Nissan Sentra 30-year-old Erica Deleon had been operating struck the man at the intersection.
Further news reports indicated that the Los Angeles driver had a green light as she headed south on Crenshaw Boulevard while the pedestrian crossed westbound outside a marked crosswalk.
The unidentified pedestrian sustained severe injuries, subsequently dying at the scene.
Per Torrance Police, officers placed Deleon under arrested after recovering suspected narcotics. In addition, police suspected impairment at the time as she also drove without a driver’s license.
The 30-year-old faces a $100,000 bail at Torrance facility, per a public arrest record.
