Christopher Avina Dies in Motorcycle Collision With Semi-Truck on 5 Freeway Near Grapevine Road

 
LEBEC, CA (March 19, 2019) – A North Hills motorcyclist who crashed into a semi-truck Saturday on the 5 Freeway near Grapevine Road died moments after.
 
Christopher Renee Avina succumbed to his injuries after paramedics rushed him to a hospital.
 
According to reports, the 26-year-old plowed into the back of a semi-truck on the southbound 5 Freeway around 3 p.m.
 
Per witnesses, Avina traveled at speeds well over 80 mph before the impact. As a result of the collision, medics airlifted him to a nearby hospital with severe injuries.
 
Because the details are scant, California Highway Patrol is investigating the ultimate cause of this collision.
