Elkland Resident Alexander Reed Killed in Spur Drive Stolen Motorcycle Crash [Marshfield, MO]

Marshfield, MO (July 21, 2024) – 29-year-old Alexander Reed of Elkland was killed in a Spur Drive stolen motorcycle crash Friday evening.

Investigators said it was around 7 p.m. a police officer was turning east onto Spur Drive from Jefferson Street when Reed has struck the driver’s side of the officer’s vehicle. 

Both Reed’s motorcycle and the police vehicle caught fire.

Alexander Reed was killed in the collision while the police officer was transported to a Springfield hospital for burns and injuries.

According to investigating officers, Reed was traveling at a very high rate of speed on Spur Drive and officer did have a green light at the intersection.

Troopers stated the motorcycle Reed was using was stolen and he was a convicted felon in possession of a firearm during the collision.

The officer’s drug and alcohol test at the hospital came back with negative results.
