Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Car in Sacramento

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (March 20, 2019) – A Tuesday morning pedestrian accident on Stockton Boulevard near Mack Road claimed a woman’s life.
 
According to Sgt. Vance Chandler with the Sacramento Police Department, officers learned of the collision around 5:15 a.m.
 
In their investigation, police determined a van driver heading southbound on Stockton Boulevard struck a female pedestrian crossing the street. The adult woman suffered serious injuries, immediately prompting authorities to bring her to a local hospital. However, despite life-saving efforts, the woman died shortly after.
 
Meanwhile, the driver stayed behind and cooperated with investigators, who soon ruled out impairment as a factor in the incident.
 
Commuters faced a closure on Stockton Boulevard between Mack Road and Lenhart Road due to the investigation.
