Drunk Driver Arrested after Pedestrian Collision near Highway 528
MARYSVILLE, WA (October 14, 2018) – Two people were injured early Sunday morning following a DUI crash on Interstate 5. The identities of the victims were not disclosed to the public.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident took place at about 2:30 AM near Highway 528. Two people were pushing their car that ran out of gas in the right lane when they were struck by a vehicle.
One of the pedestrians suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Further updates on her condition were not provided. Meanwhile, the other victim sustained less serious injuries and was treated at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, later determined to be intoxicated at the time of the crash, was arrested for vehicular assault. An investigation is ongoing to identify other possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
