Tragic Solo-Vehicle Crash on Highway 3 Kills 2 People [Trinity County, CA]

2 Hayfork Residents Killed in Disastrous Car-Tree Collision on State Route

Trinity County, CA (July 2, 2023) On Friday evening, a solo-vehicle crash on Highway 3 left 2 Hayfork residents dead.

According to the Trinity River Area CHP, the car-tree collision happened at about 5:35 p.m. along State Route 3, 2 miles north of State Route 36.

Reports say that a northbound 2006 Ford 500 veered off the roadway and crashed into a tree. Both the driver and passenger perished in the car-tree collision.

Authorities are investigating the probable cause of the tragic solo-vehicle crash, officials say that both occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. No further details are available at this time.
