Driver and Passenger Hurt in Single-Vehicle Accident on Washougal River Road

Washougal, WA (April 25, 2024) Early Wednesday morning, a 44-year-old woman from Vancouver and a 56-year-old man from Stevenson were hurt after a horrific solo-car crash on State Route 14.

According to WSP, the single-vehicle accident happened around 5 a.m. in the roundabout at State Route 14 and Washougal River Road.

Reports say that an eastbound vehicle hit a sign in the roundabout, causing the vehicle to land on its side, entrapping both male driver and female passenger.

Officials say that both man and woman were taken to the hospital, both sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities are investigating the single-vehicle accident and have not released additional information at this time.

Here are some of the things we can do to prevent traffic accidents:

Start by inspecting your vehicle’s headlights and turn signals. Ensure the front and rear headlamps are working properly and visible from a few yards away.

Read your tire pressure to maintain the recommended pressure. In addition, check underneath your vehicle for leaks and loose objects.

You should always stay focused while on the road. Remove all distractions that could cause accidents, such as mobile phone use and unrestrained toddlers.

Most of all, it is also important to make sure the road is clear and avoid any possible collision.
