MARYSVILLE, CA (February 9, 2023) – Early Wednesday morning, a Sacramento man died in an auto accident on Highway 70 and Sparrow Lane.
 
The incident happened at about 1:10 a.m. on southbound Highway 70 and Sparrow Lane.
 
Reports said that the 41-year-old driver of a Toyota Tacoma headed south when he lost control. Then, he struck a construction barrel cone and overturned before it came to rest in an orchard.
 
Officers noted that the driver failed to wear a seatbelt and was ejected. As a result, he sustained fatal injuries. Meanwhile, his passenger, a 40-year-old man from Marysville, suffered minor injuries.
 
Moreover, officers found fentanyl and alcohol inside the vehicle. Also, authorities suspect that alcohol and drugs played a role in the crash.
