Patterson Car Dealership Owner Identified as Man Killed in Pacheco Pass Crash
HOLLISTER, CA (September 17, 2019) – Authorities identified 59-year-old Rick Schiltz of Patterson as the man killed in a car crash on Pacheco Pass, Tuesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Dinosaur Point Road, at about 9:00 AM. The victim’s vehicle reportedly made an unsafe turning movement and left the roadway.
There, the vehicle traveled 200 feet down an embankment and caught fire, ejecting the driver from his vehicle.
Emergency responders pronounced the driver dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported by the authorities.
The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Authorities will release additional information to the public once it becomes available.
