Reva Garza of New Braunfels Killed in FM 306 DWI Collision [New Braunfels, TX]

Officers Booked Juan Sebastian Vargas in Hunter Road Fatal Collision

New Braunfels, TX (March 17, 2023) – On Thursday, Reva Garza, 42, of New Braunfels, sustained fatal injuries, while the authorities arrested Juan Sebastian Vargas, 21, following an FM 306 DWI collision.

The fatal crash happened around 1:45 a.m. in the 1000 block area, near the intersection with Hunter Road.

Investigating officers said two Dodge Ram pickup trucks collided head-on. A northbound white Dodge Ram and a southbound black Dodge Ram.

Police stated that Reva Garza, the white truck driver sustained critical injuries and died at the scene. His two male passengers, 19 and 25, were both transported to nearby hospitals in critical condition.

Moreover, the authorities charged Juan Sebastian Vargas, the driver of the other truck, with one count of intoxication assault with a vehicle, causing serious bodily injury. The authorities took him by ambulance to Christus Santa Rosa Hospital New Braunfels and was medically cleared.

Vargas is currently in Comal County Jail as additional charges may be pending.

Meanwhile, the NBPD Traffic Unit is investigating the Hunter Road fatal collision.
