HESPERIA, CA (August 31, 2019) – A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a train early Saturday morning in Hesperia.
 
The crash happened around 5:45 a.m. along Summit Valley Road near Trout Street.
 
Authorities said the BSNF train was traveling eastbound when it struck the pedestrian. The impact instantly killed the victim.
 
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Coroner Office will release the identity of the deceased once family members are properly notified.
 
Meanwhile, local news sources mentioned the incident prompted officials to stop traffic in both directions to give way to the investigation.
