HERCULES, CA (August 15, 2019) – A 91-year-old pedestrian sustained injuries in a pedestrian accident on Sycamore Avenue on August 12.
 
The officers came to the scene about 7:30 a.m. on Sycamore Avenue and Civic Drive, where they located the man on the ground in the road with head injuries.
 
Detectives suspect that the pedestrian crossed outside the crosswalk from the north curb of Sycamore Avenue, just west of Civic Drive, to the south curb.
 
The 21-year-old driver of a 2006 Chrysler Sebring hit the pedestrian and stayed at the scene.
 
Authorities ruled out drugs or alcohol as factors in the crash.
 
A helicopter flew the victim to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.
