DELANO, CA (July 17, 2019) – One person died following a head-on crash on Highway 43 at Schuster Road Wednesday evening.
 
The crash happened around 9:29 p.m. involving a semi truck carrying tomatoes and a sedan.
 
The sedan reportedly caught fire from the impact and spread into grass off the roadway. The driver, whose identity has not yet been released, was killed in the crash. The victim was the sole occupant of the car.
 
The driver of the semi truck sustained possible minor injuries.
 
Officers closed Highway 43 in both directions while they investigated the crash on Highway 43. All lanes were reopened around 1:30 a.m. However, police did not release any other information regarding the fatal head-on car accident at this time.
