Fire crews located the rider with major injuries upon arrival. The patient was taken to Stanford Hospital for further treatment in an unknown condition.

An investigation is still currently ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify possible contributing factors.

Speeding, distractions, and intoxication are very common factors of head-on collisions. Always be alert and watchful to those around you when driving. Maintain a safe speed and do not allow yourself to lose control by braking so suddenly that you skid. Slow down so that if there is an impact, this will greatly reduce the damage done and the risk of fatality.
