Driver Injured after San Jacinto Accident on N State Street near W Community College Way
SAN JACINTO, CA (March 9, 2022) – Sunday night, authorities arrested Maria Mercedes Arcemiranda after a DUI crash on N State Street.
According to authorities, the incident happened on N State Street, south of W Community College Way.
Reports revealed that a southbound dark grey Honda Civic lost control. Then, it jumped the center median and collided head-on with a red Toyota Prius hatchback.
Moreover, firefighters rushed to the scene and extricated the sole occupant of the Toyota trapped inside the vehicle. Then, paramedics transported the victim to Riverside University Health System in Moreno Valley with serious injuries. Also, responders transported the Honda driver, 38-year-old Maria Mercedes Arcemiranda to an area hospital with minor injuries.
Furthermore, officers arrested and booked Arcemiranda into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning. She’s currently facing charges on suspicion of DUI and providing false information to a peace officer.
Meanwhile, the incident blocked N. State Street but has long since reopened.
