LOS GATOS, CA – One Seriously Injured in Rollover Crash on Highway 17 at Summit Road

Car Overturns on Highway 17 in Los Gatos, Major Injuries Sustained

 
LOS GATOS, CA (February 14, 2019) – One person was seriously injured following a rollover crash Thursday afternoon in Los Gatos.
 
The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. on Highway 17 at Summit Road.
 
According to reports, a car was traveling northbound on the highway when it lost control and overturned.
 
The driver suffered major injuries and was taken to a hospital in an unknown condition.
 
Traffic was at a standstill in both directions. Traffic on northbound Highway 1 was being diverted to Summit Road. Authorities were able to reopen all northbound lanes at about 7:00 p.m.
 
It is unclear if speed, drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash. An investigation is still ongoing.
 
Common causes of vehicle rollovers are over correcting or over steering when attempting to avoid an accident. When driving, please wear your seatbelt, follow the speed limits, and remain in your lane in order to ensure positive control of your vehicle.
