DUI Motorist Involved in Collision near Santa Anita Boulevard

SOUTH EL MONTE, CA (December 23, 2018) – Lanes were closed after a multi-car crash on westbound Highway 60, early Sunday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 12:54 AM, just east of Santa Anita Boulevard. Based on their report, there were three vehicles involved in the incident. A white BMW left the scene after colliding with two unknown vehicles.

The paramedics were requested for needed medical attention. Fortunately, they had not recorded any life-threatening injuries from the involved motorists.

The No. 5 lane and the off-ramp were closed while a clearing operation was performed in the area. The authorities found the BMW and arrested a man who apparently had been drinking before the crash happened. The man was booked on suspicion of DUI. The manner and cause of the collision are currently under investigation, and additional information will be disclosed to the public, once it becomes available.
