LAKE ISABELLA, CA (April 30, 2019) – Two people were airlifted following a head-on crash Tuesday morning in Lake Isabella.

The crash happened around 11:36 a.m. on Highway 178 at Elizabeth Norris Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a gold/tan vehicle collided head-on with a black vehicle. Two occupants, believe to be the drivers, were pinned inside their vehicles.

Both patients were flown to a hospital with unspecified injuries and in unknown conditions.

An investigation is still ongoing to determine who was at fault and to gather all the factors involved in the accident.

Head-on collisions often occur because of speeding, distractions, and intoxication. Always be alert and watchful to those around you when driving. Also, maintain a safe speed and do not allow yourself to lose control by braking so suddenly that you skid. Slow down so that if there is an impact, this will greatly reduce the damage done and the risk of fatality.
