James Griffin and Flavio Balderas Killed in Crash on State Street

SOUTH GATE, CA (February 6, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, James Griffin and Flavio Balderas died in a multi-vehicle accident on State Street and Tweedy Boulevard.

The incident happened at around 2:10 a.m. on State Street and Tweedy Boulevard.

According to the LA County Fire Department, the accident involved multiple vehicles and a trapped individual.

Moreover, responding firefighters rushed to the scene and extricated one person trapped inside a wreckage. Then, officers confirmed that two people sustained deadly injuries in the crash.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash scene remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Reports have also revealed that Balderas’ wife, Michaela Balderas, died at the hospital as a result of the crash.
