Isaac Orton Killed in Crash on 880 Freeway and 80 Freeway [Oakland, CA]

1 Dead in Oakland Pedestrian Accident on 880 Freeway

 
OAKLAND, CA (September 16, 2020) – Monday night, Isaac Orton died in a crash on the 880 Freeway in West Oakland.
 
The incident happened at around 7:40 p.m. on the northbound lanes of 880 Freeway, south of 80 Freeway.
 
According to police reports, a 22-year-old San Francisco man traveling in the northbound lanes of 880 Freeway struck Isaac Orton. As a result of the crash, authorities declared Orton dead at the scene.
 
The preliminary information revealed that Isaac Orton ran from the highway’s center divider across multiple lanes of traffic before the crash.
 
Then, the Toyota’s driver pulled over and reported the incident.
 
Upon the CHP officers’ arrival, they shut down four lanes of northbound 880 Freeway at 7:53 p.m. They also rerouted the traffic to the West Grand Avenue off-ramp. The authorities advised motorists to expect the reopening of traffic lanes by 10:00 p.m.
 
Meanwhile, they also urged anyone with information to contact the CHP’s Oakland office at 510-457-2875.
 
At this time, the CHP continues to find out why Isaac Orton of Berkeley was on the freeway. Officer Sean Layton revealed that they didn’t find any vehicles connected to the deceased.
