Hit-and-Run Driver Involved in Collision near Eastmoor Avenue

DALY CITY, CA (May 23, 2019) – Injuries were sustained in a hit-and-run crash on southbound 280 Freeway Wednesday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle collision happened just before 7:00 AM. Reports also indicate that police arrived just north of the Eastmoor Avenue on-ramp shortly after.

To begin, a white construction truck collided with a Honda CRV for unknown reasons. The truck was later found in the center divider facing the wrong way upon officers arrival.

The paramedics were requested for needed medical attention as a result. In addition, they reported injuries sustained by the involved motorists. However, all conditions were said to be non-life threatening.

Furthermore, the driver of the construction truck fled the scene after the incident.

The No. 1 lane was closed for a brief time while crews worked to clear the wreckage, but has since reopened.

An investigation is currently ongoing to determine the cause of the accident. Authorities are also working to identify and locate the hit-and-run suspect. Additional information has yet to be released. More information will eventually be given once available.

If you find yourself trapped in an emergency or if you’re involved in an auto accident, do not flee the scene after the incident. By driving safely and cautiously, you can help to ensure your safety. In addition, always keep a safe distance between yourself and other vehicles around.
