Driver Fled after McKinleyville Fiery Accident on Highway 101 and Route 200

 
MCKINLEYVILLE, CA (May 19, 2022) – Wednesday, a hit-and-run crash on Highway 101 and Route 200 led to injuries.
 
The incident happened at around 11:55 p.m. on Highway 101 and Route 200.
 
According to reports, the crash involved a Toyota Sequoia and a Dodge Challenger. Afterward, one vehicle had caught fire with “oil spilling onto ground that will start shoulder on fire…shortly.”
 
Then, one of the driver escaped. Meanwhile, officers found a second driver outside of the vehicle with unknown injuries.
 
By 12:22 a.m., officers confirmed that the fire didn’t spread.
 
“CHP advised they found an injured party under the [Mad River] bridge,” reports revealed. Eventually, the dispatcher confirmed that the injured party was the suspect who escaped. The suspect has felony warrants for his arrest.
 
Thus, responders required a gurney.
 
By 1:27 a.m., the incident was listed as a major injury crash.
