1 Dead in Martinez Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 4 and Center Avenue

MARTINEZ, CA (May 12, 2023) – Wednesday night, a horrific 2-car wreck on Highway 4 and Center Avenue killed 1 person.

The incident happened at about 10:40 p.m. on westbound Highway 4, east of Center Avenue.

According to reports, a two-vehicle crash began with a grey Honda Civic traveling west with only 1 occupant. Meanwhile, a white Toyota Corolla with 1 occupant also traveled west.

Then, the Honda collided with the Toyota, causing both vehicles to lose control and veer off the road.

As the vehicles left the road, they both went down an embankment and collided into two separate trees.

When emergency personnel came to the scene, they began performing medical aid.

Then, responders declared the Honda driver dead at the scene. Meanwhile, they transported the Toyota driver to the hospital for major injuries.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
