25-Year-Old Female Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Collision near Main Street in Riverside

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (May 7, 2020) – Early Wednesday morning, 25-year-old Holly Rood was killed in a pedestrian crash on De Anza Drive.
 
Police say the crash occurred around 4:20 a.m., just west of Main Street. According to the police reports, a southbound Hyundai Elantra struck the pedestrian on De Anza Drive while she was walking outside of a marked crosswalk.
 
The impact of the crash left the pedestrian with fatal injuries.
 
According to reports, the driver stayed on scene and cooperated with officials. When the deputies arrived, they located the pedestrian lying in the street.
 
Meanwhile, the Coroner’s officials later identified Rood. However, the woman’s residence hasn’t been determined at this time. Once available, further information regarding the collision will be released the to public.
