Hinkley Resident Hector Gagliardi Dies in Vehicle Collision on Mariposa Road [Hesperia, CA]

Hesperia, CA (April 17, 2024) – 67-year-old Hector Gagliardi of Hinkley was killed while others were injured in a vehicle collision on Mariposa Road Monday night.

The fatal 3-vehicle collision happened at 10:34 p.m. on April 15 near Mesa Street. A Hyundai SUV, a silver 2007 Toyota Yaris, and a red 2003 Ford F150 were involved in the deadly collision.

The firefighters found two adult occupants with the female passenger trapped inside the Hyundai SUV. The victims, husband and wife, were taken by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

Moreover, an adult male driver in the Yaris incurred some cuts to his face and refused to be transported. 

Police officers used batons to break the windows of the Ford pickup truck and reach the critically injured driver. 

CPR was performed at the scene before Hector Gagliardi was taken to an area hospital where he was declared deceased.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Amanda Paslak said Gagliardi who was driving the F150 crossed from the northbound lanes into the southbound lanes of Mariposa Road. The Ford sideswiped a silver Toyota Yaris and continued onto Mariposa Road where it collided head-on into a blue Hyundai Tucson.
