Injuries Reported in Grimes County Multi-Vehicle Accident on State Highway 90

GRIMES COUNTY, TX (April 29, 2024) – Saturday afternoon, a disastrous multi-vehicle crash on State Highway 90 injured five people.

The incident happened at around 5:00 p.m. on State Highway 90.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a southbound 2016 Honda Accord rear-ended a 2016 Lexus ES350. Then, the force of the crash pushed the Lexus into the northbound lanes where it collided with a 2022 Tesla and a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox.

Moreover, responders airlifted the driver of the Honda to CHI St. Joseph Regional Hospital with suspected serious injuries. Then, paramedics transported the drivers of the Lexus and Chevrolet to Herman Memorial Medical Center with suspected serious injuries. Also, authorities said that the driver and passenger of the Tesla were treated and released on the scene.

Furthermore, the crash closed SH 90 but has long since reopened.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Texas Department of Public Safety continued to investigate the crash.
