1 Person Dead in Los Angeles Pedestrian Accident on Western Avenue near Washington Boulevard

LOS ANGELES, CA (April 29, 2024) – Sunday morning, a tragic hit-and-run crash on Western Avenue near Washington Boulevard killed one person.

The incident happened at around 1:50 a.m. on Western Avenue, just south of Washington Boulevard.

According to reports, a southbound black pickup truck struck a male pedestrian who was crossing the roadway outside a marked crosswalk. Then, another southbound vehicle struck the pedestrian who was already down on the pavement. Also, authorities confirmed that both drivers fled the scene of the crash without stopping to provide aid.

Moreover, responders pronounced the 65-year-old victim, dead at the scene.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
