LAPD Officer Hospitalized in Figueroa Street Collision
Los Angeles, CA (May 20, 2024) – An LAPD officer was injured following a 12th Street collision early Sunday morning.
It was about 3:30 a.m. when the incident unfolded on Figueroa Street.
The accident report stated that the officer was working a security detail at 12th Street when a man went to her SUV and managed to get inside.
The suspect drove off with the police vehicle while the officer was dragged. The police officer was later ejected from the vehicle.
Later on, the police SUV crashed into a pole. The vehicle’s front end was severely damaged as an overturned bike and scooters lay amid debris on a sidewalk.
Immediately, the rescuers rushed the police officer to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The authorities arrested the suspect as he tried to run away from the scene.
