3 People Hurt in Moreno Valley Auto Accident on 60 Freeway and 215 Freeway

MORENO VALLEY, CA (April 29, 2024) – Sunday morning, a disastrous wrong-way crash on 60 Freeway and 215 Freeway injured three people.

The incident happened at around 2:15 a.m. along the transition road from the westbound 60 Freeway to the southbound 215 Freeway.

According to California Highway Patrol Officer Javier Navarro, a northbound vehicle that was traveling on the southbound lanes collided with two other vehicles. Then, about five minutes after the first crash, the wrong-way driver continued westbound on the 60 Freeway where they collided head-on with three more vehicles.

Moreover, responders transported three victims to a hospital with unknown injuries.

Furthermore, officers confirmed that the wrong-way driver attempted to flee the scene on foot after the crash, but was found along Day Street. Then, paramedics transported the suspect to a hospital with major injuries. Also, authorities said that the suspect was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, hit-and-run, and driving on the wrong side of the freeway.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
