Driver Transported in FM 400 Rear-End Crash [Lubbock, TX]

Injuries Reported in Lubbock Tractor Collision

Lubbock, TX (April 19, 2024) – A driver sustained injuries following an FM 400 rear-end crash early Thursday morning.

It was before 6:30 p.m. when the two-vehicle crash happened near John Long Drive, near Ransom Canyon.

Investigators said a tractor northbound on FM 400 when it was rear-ended by a truck.

Right away, the patient was transported to UMC with moderate injuries.

Troopers are investigating.

Here are some of the things we can do to avoid traffic accidents.

Always check your vehicle before you leave.

Start by inspecting your vehicle’s headlights and turn signals. Ensure the front and rear headlamps are working properly and visible from a few yards away.

Read your tire pressure to maintain the recommended pressure. In addition, check underneath your vehicle for leaks and loose objects.

You should always stay focused while on the road. Remove all distractions that could cause accidents, such as mobile phone use and unrestrained toddlers.

What Follows the FM 400 Rear-End Crash?

Despite their scrupulous creation and mapping for efficient travel, highways are among the most dangerous places on earth. Consequently, everyone must remain calm to handle the situation effectively after a collision.

In fact, on the AAA Foundation website, Chief Executive Officer Peter Kissinger repeatedly labeled the epidemic of motor vehicle-related accidents a “public health crisis.”

The following are things we should remember if we are involved in an accident:

  • Before anything else, seek medical attention if you or someone with you has been hurt.
  • Get to a safe place to prevent further damage or injury.
  • Collect as much information as possible, including insurance and contact information for people involved in the accident and pictures/videos of vehicles involved. Also, do not forget to document faults and whatever can be used as evidence.
  • File a police report or incident report by calling 911.
