FRESNO, CA (January 5, 2021) – Sunday evening, authorities arrested Dominique Thurman after a police chase ended in a crash on Sixth Street.
 
According to authorities, at around 6:00 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on 23-year-old Gene Gleeson of Oakland for running a stop sign.
 
Authorities smelled drugs and confronted Gleeson. However, the 23-year-old driver fled the scene and collided with another vehicle while crossing Sixth Street.
 
Gleeson fled on foot after jumping out of the vehicle. Then, the abandoned vehicle struck a nearby trailer and the curb.
 
Moreover, the driver of the second vehicle struck by the suspect vehicle sustained no injuries in the crash.
 
Meanwhile, authorities arrested 19-year-old Dominique Thurman of Castro Valley, a passenger of the suspect vehicle.
 
Also, officers found a gun during a scene search. Furthermore, the firearm is believed to have been thrown out of the vehicle during the chase.
 
Coalinga police ask anyone with information about 23-year old Gene Gleeson of Oakland to contact them as soon as possible.
