COSTA MESA, CA – Injuries Reported in Multi-Vehicle Crash on 55 Freeway near 405 Freeway

4 Vehicles Involved in Morning Collision on 55 Freeway in Costa Mesa

 
COSTA MESA, CA (May 9, 2019) – Injuries were reported following a multi-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Costa Mesa.
 
The crash happened shortly after 8:00 a.m., on southbound 55 Freeway, just North of 405 Freeway.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a grayish blue Ford sports car, a black Jeep, a box truck and a fourth vehicle were involved in the crash.
 
Fire crews responded to the scene and found several parties injured as a result of the accident. Paramedics took the patients to a hospital for proper treatment.
 
The number of injured patients and the extent of their injuries were not immediately known.
 
A SigAlert was issued for about an hour, blocking three freeway lanes while officers and crews worked on the scene.
 
The incident is still currently on active investigation while the authorities are putting the pieces together.
