Conrad Ahrens Arrested in DUI Crash on La Cañada Drive [Tucson, AZ]

Tucson, AZ (July 7, 2023) On Tuesday evening, 68-year-old Conrad Ahrens was arrested after a DUI crash on La Cañada Drive.

According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD), the DUI collision happened on the evening of July 4th around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection with Sunset Road.

Reports say that Ahrens was driving a Jeep Wrangler that drove into 2 other cars then fled on foot after the collision.

Officials say that Ahrens rear-ended a car then veered onto the opposite lane and continued driving until he hit another vehicle, the impact of the crash flipped the Jeep to its side. Afterward, Ahrens was reported to have ran away from the scene of the crash.

First responders found Ahrens’s vehicle flipped on the road and 2 people were injured due to the incident. Medics did not provide details on the severity of the injuries the victims sustained.

PCSD says that Arhens was immediately found nearby, officials arrested Conrad Ahrens and is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, wrong way driving, DUI, felony criminal damage and leaving the scene of a serious injury collision.
