PALM SPRINGS, CA (August 1, 2023) – Monday morning, Carlos Gutierrez died in a tragic vehicle crash on Interstate 10 near Wall Road.

According to California Highway Patrol Officer David Torres, a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu lost control for still unknown reasons, struck the metal guard rail of the center median and spun out of control.

Then, the force of the crash ejected the 27-year-old male driver of the Chevrolet into the roadway.

Moreover, responders pronounced the Chevrolet driver, identified as Gutierrez of Cathedral City, dead at 3:33 a.m. on Sunday.

Then, paramedics transported a 25-year-old female passenger of the Chevrolet to a hospital with moderate injuries.

Furthermore, a westbound 2019 Toyota Corolla struck wooden debris from the earlier crash. Authorities confirmed that the male driver of the vehicle was uninjured while his female passenger sustained minor injuries in the incident.

At this time, the cause of the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
