Baker, CA (March 6, 2022) – On Thursday, a driver sustained injuries in an Interstate 15 semi-truck collision.

The authorities received the crash report at about 1:35 p.m. on the southbound freeway between Basin Road and Afton Road.

Reports say that a purple and a white tractor were involved in the collision.

The purple was pulling an empty cargo trailer with heavy front end damage while the white was hauling empty moving pods with damage to one of the pods and the trailer.

According to the investigators, the purple semi truck spilled approximately 100 gallons of diesel fuel on the ground and roadway.

Mercy Air #66 airlifted the purple big rig driver to Loma Linda University Medical Center in unknown condition.

Meanwhile, the California Highway Patrol Barstow Office investigated this Interstate 15 collision.

As always, it is important to understand the right of way. Be sure to yield to drivers who have the right of way. However, it is safe to never assume that all drivers know the rules. Only proceed when it is safe to do so.

There are plenty of ways to practice safe and defensive driving. This way, you can ensure your safety as well as the other motorists on the road.
