1 Person Hurt in Turlock Pedestrian Accident on North Olive Avenue and North Avenue

TURLOCK, CA (October 12, 2023) – Monday morning, Aubelia Rivera-Zamora sustained injuries in a crippling pedestrian crash on North Olive Avenue and North Avenue.

The incident happened at around 11:27 a.m. at the T-intersection of North Olive Avenue and North Avenue.

According to CHP Officer Tom Olsen, a westbound Turlock Unified School District bus failed to see the victim and struck the female pedestrian who was crossing the roadway in a marked crosswalk.

Moreover, responders transported the 62-year-old victim to a hospital with unknown injuries. Also, officers confirmed that no occupants of the school bus was hurt in the incident.

Furthermore, a DMC spokeswoman said that the bus driver, 62-year-old Edwin Bettencourt, has been removed from driving duties pending the outcome of an investigation.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
