FILLMORE, CA (February 26, 2023) – On Friday, a 48-year-old woman died in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 126 near Pyle Road.
 
The incident happened on Highway 126, just east of Pyle Road.
 
According to CHP Sgt. Michael Untalan, an eastbound 2014 Dodge Durango SUV spun out of control for still unknown reasons. Then, the Durango struck a 2017 Honda Civic before coming to rest on an embankment.
 
Moreover, responding paramedics pronounced the 48-year-old female driver of the Civic dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported the 30-year-old Santa Paula woman who was driving the Durango. They transported her to Ventura County Medical Center with major injuries.
 
Furthermore, authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
 
Meanwhile, officers asked anyone with information about the fatal incident to call the Ventura CHP at 805-662-2640.
 
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
