Four Pedestrians Struck by Vehicle near South J Street

LOMPOC, CA (December 7, 2018) – One person was killed and three others were injured early Friday evening following a pedestrian crash on West Cypress Avenue. The identities of the victims were not immediately disclosed to the public.

According to the Lompoc Police Department, the incident happened at about 5:10 PM. For unknown reasons, a vehicle struck a group of pedestrians near South J Street.

Three of the pedestrians were taken to a local hospital with mild to moderate injuries. Further updates on their current medical conditions were not provided. A fourth pedestrian was transported to a separate hospital, where they were pronounced dead by medical staff.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Drugs and alcohol were ruled out as factors in the fatal incident, which remains under investigation.
