Tragic Wrong-Way Crash on Interstate 82 Kills Male Driver [Ellensburg, WA]

Ellensburg, WA (December 18, 2023) On Saturday evening, a male driver was killed and a female passenger was hurt in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 82.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the fatal wrong-way crash happened around 10 p.m. on I-82, 2 miles east of Ellensburg.

Reports say that a westbound 1995 Ford F150 truck in the eastbound lanes near milepost 1, driven by a Renton man, collided with an eastbound 2012 Hyundai Sonata driven by a man and with a female passenger.

Authorities say that the male driver died at the scene while the passenger suffered injuries.

WSP is investigating the wrong-way crash and has not released further information about the tragic incident.
