GUADALUPE, CA (July 24, 2019) – An 83-year-old man died when his minivan crashed into farm tractors on Highway 1 Tuesday night.

Authorities identified the man as Warner Deutschman of Orcutt. His wife and passenger, 81-year-old Shirly Ann Deutschman, suffered moderate injuries in the crash.

The California Highway Patrol said the crash occurred shortly before 6 p.m. on southbound Highway 1. Warner Deutschman was driving a minivan southbound on Highway 1 at an unknown speed. For inexplicable reasons, the minivan veered into the opposite lane and subsequently hit farm tractors parked on the dirt shoulder north of Black Road.
