Tragic Rear-End Crash on Basse Road Kills 1 [San Antonio, TX]

San Antonio, TX (April 1, 2023) On Thursday evening, a rear-end crash on Basse Road leads to the death of a 33-year-old man.

SAPD says that the deadly crash happened at around 10:15 p.m. in the 300 block of Basse Road, near the Quarry.

Authorities say that a 2022 black BMW and a 2014 red Jeep Grand Cherokee collided initially and were stopped at the eastbound lanes of Basse.

As both drivers were out of their vehicle assessing damages, a 2001 tan Mercury struck the rear of the Jeep that was parked behind the BMW.

The impact of the crash caused the Jeep and BMW to pin one of the drivers who were standing between the vehicles.

Medics transported the 33-year-old male driver to University Hospital, however, the man was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Authorities are investigating the deadly crash and have not released further details about the rear-end crash.
