1 Seriously Hurt in Spring Valley Pedestrian Accident
SPRING VALLEY, CA (February 19, 2019) – A pedestrian was hospitalized Tuesday morning when he was struck by a motorist near Campo Road and North Granada Avenue.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Travis Garrow, the incident took place around 5:45 a.m. The 71-year-old pedestrian was attempting to cross eastbound on South Granada Avenue, but was struck by a Volkswagen Passat heading northbound.
The victim was brought to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego for treatment of moderate to major injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the Volkswagen — a 43-year-old man — was questioned by officers at the scene.
There were no details concerning the cause of the crash.
