Injuries Reported in Van Nuys Auto Accident on Saticoy Street and Sepulveda Boulevard

VAN NUYS, CA (April 21, 2024) – Friday night, a speeding vehicle crash on Saticoy Street and Sepulveda Boulevard injured 3 people.

The incident happened occurred at about 10:30 p.m. on Saticoy Street, east of Sepulveda Street.

According to reports, a speeding vehicle crashed into a subway restaurant and a neighboring home.

Surveillance footage captured a vehicle traveling at a high speed before losing control and crashing into a Subway restaurant. The car plowed through the outdoor seating area, then collided with a BMW sedan, flipping over into an adjacent driveway and landing on top of four other vehicles, according to initial reports.

Witnesses recounted hearing a loud crash and seeing the overturned car. Some mentioned the discovery of drug paraphernalia near the crash site and suggested that at least one victim was ejected from the vehicle.

Of the three victims, two were confirmed to be teenagers, both hospitalized in critical condition. The driver, identified as an unlicensed and uninsured 15-year-old according to the initial police report, remains unidentified along with the other victims.

Saticoy Street was temporarily closed following the crash but has since reopened. The Los Angeles Police Department is leading the investigation into the cause of the collision.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
