Shawna Granillo of Sunray Dies in DUI Collision on FM 119 [Moore County, TX]

Moore County, TX (January 28, 2023) – On Wednesday night, Shawna Granillo, 47, of Sunray, sustained fatal injuries in a DUI collision on FM 119.

The fatal crash took place at about 9:25 p.m., about eight miles northeast of Dumas.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Jena Larios-Tipaz was westbound on FM 119 when at the same time, a 1990 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Shawna Granillo, was eastbound.

Larios-Tipaz was driving the wrong way and struck Granillo’s pickup head-on. Both vehicles rested in the eastbound lane.

Unfortunately, Shawna Granillo succumbed to her injuries at the crash scene.

Meanwhile, the paramedics rushed Larios-Tipaz to the Moore County Hospital for minor injuries. Officers said he had been drinking and they arrested him for intoxication manslaughter. They booked him into the Moore County Jail.

Officers are investigating the Moore County fatal crash.
