Edinburg Multi-Vehicle Crash Kills 2
Edinburg, TX (April 24, 2024) – Sergio Delgado, 29, of Edinburg, and Jeremy Hess, 43, of Wisconsin, were killed in a Texas Road collision early Tuesday morning.
The multi-vehicle collision happened at 9:43 a.m. at the intersection with FM 907.
Investigators said a red Ford Escape driven by a woman with a passenger was eastbound on Texas Road.
At the same time, a red Nissan Versa was southbound on FM 907 while a brown Cadillac SRX driven by a man was northbound on the same road.
DPS officers said the Ford Escape driver did not yield at the stop sign and crashed into the Nissan Versa.
Consequently, the Nissan side-swiped the Cadillac, causing it to veer off to the southeast corner of the intersection and start a fire.
The Ford Escape veered off the roadway onto the southeast corner intersection and crashed into a utility pole. The passenger of the Ford Escape, Hess, was ejected from the vehicle.
The Ford then struck a parked and unoccupied Ford Econoline van.
Sadly, the driver of the Nissan, Delgado, was declared deceased at the crash scene.
Moreover, the driver of the Ford Escape and Hess were taken to an area hospital. The driver suffered major injuries while Hess succumbed to his injuries.
The Cadillac driver was also transported to the local hospital with injuries.
DPS Troopers are still investigating this deadly collision.
